The American Heart Association has teamed up with Cumulus Media to give away Go Red For Women pins at intersections during the morning commute on National Wear Red Day. They will set up near Union Station and the Plaza Fountains to give away the pins. Other activities:

• Red Dress Dash: 5 to 7:30 p.m., KC Live! Block at Power & Light District. There will be a quick 4-block run around downtown followed by photo booths, face painting, music, drink specials and awards. So throw on your favorite red dress (or anything red) and join in. The first 150 participants to register for this free event will receive a free T-shirt. The Dash takes place around 6 with entertainment before and after.

• National Wear Red Day Selfies: Everyone is encouraged to take selfies of themselves wearing their red on Feb. 2 and upload them to social media with #KCGoesRed to raise awareness.

• Buildings Go Red: Buildings across Kansas City will be going red to raise awareness and show support for the AHA. Use #KCGoesRed to post photos on Twitter and Instagram throughout the month of February.

• Charlie Hustle has partnered with the AHA to provide a limited edition white shirt with red heart. Proceeds from each shirt sold during American Heart Month will go to the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball, which will be held Feb. 24 this year, at the Kansas City Convention Center.
