Independence Police continue to investigate a homicide after two victims were found Tuesday morning at a Fairmount neighborhood residence. One man died after being rushed to the hospital, and a woman found injured at the scene was treated at the hospital and released.
The man’s name and official cause of death have not yet been released.
According to police, officers responded at 5:30 a.m. to the 800 block of South Huttig Avenue, south of U.S. 24 on the city's west side, on an aggravated assault call. They found the critically injured man outside a residence and the injured woman also at the scene.
