Two seniors from Fort Osage High School have been honored by the Rotary Club of Independence as students of the month.

• Nicole Dover was the E-studies student of the quarter and in the top 10 all four years. She also has been a scholar athlete for three years. She has been involved in tennis and DECA at Fort Osage.

Outside of school she works at Hy-Vee.

She plans to attend UMKC to major in accounting.

Her parents are Janet and Robert Dover.

• Adam Mershon played football all four years at Fort Osage. He also took part in Envirothon for three years. Through the CTC program he is president of FFA.

He has been active in Scouting and is an Eagle Scout as well as Firebuilder in the order of Mic-O-Say. He is a sixth-generation family farmer.

He plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University to study agribusiness and then return home to farm.

His parents are Tim and Nikki Mershon.
