Free Tax Help for Seniors: Beginning at 10 a.m. Thursdays and Fridays through April 15. AARP Tax-Aide representatives will be at the Library to assist seniors with moderate to low incomes with tax questions and tax return preparation. No farm returns or rental properties, please. Time listed indicates starting time of appointments. Call for an appointment.
Understanding Your Child’s Developing Brain: 2 p.m. April 7. Parents, teachers, and caregivers can gain a deeper understanding of brain development and developmental delays. Learn how to apply brain development information in the classroom, techniques for behavior management, and day-to-day activities that help develop the brain.
Kids Lab: For ages 6 and older, 7 p.m. April 9. Discover how you can bring science and technology to life.
Play and Learn Time: For ages 3 and older, 10 a.m. April 13 and 27. Enjoy a special preschool playtime that is designed to stimulate young minds and strengthen early literacy skills. We offer stimulating and fun activities as well as an opportunity to meet other preschoolers and their parents.
Explore Essential Oils: For adults, 7 p.m. April 17. Learn about essential oils, including how to use them safely and how to incorporate them into your daily life. Participants will receive a sample to enjoy.
Craft Group: For adults, 1 p.m. April 17. Creating your own works of art is one of the best ways to express yourself and share good will. Join us to meet new people, create new items, and even learn a thing or two. Quilt, knit, scrapbook, crochet, and more!
Podcast Discussion Group: For adults, 7 p.m. April 18. Don’t know where to find your next favorite podcast? Want to start listening to podcasts, but don’t know where to start? Join us for a monthly discussion of three to five podcast episodes centered on the same theme.
Beginning Watercolor: For adults, 2 p.m. April 21. Explore the tools, materials, and foundational techniques of watercolor painting with instructors from the Kansas City Art Institute’s School for Continuing and Professional Studies. Paint a subject from direct observation and leave with a finished painting. Materials will be provided. Wear art-friendly clothing.
Kid Fest: For ages 6 and older, 2 p.m. April 22. Party with us, there’s always room for more!
