Independence City Council of Beta Sigma held their annual Founders Day on April 29, at the Hilton Garden Inn. Maggie Cruz, organizer of the event, welcomed all with the Pledge of Allegiance. The Opening Ritual was led by Council President Margie McMilian and Beta Sigma Phi Grace by Paula Hamblin.

Our Founders Day message was given by Cindy Parkes with our new theme for the next sorority year will be“A Quilt of Friendship.” Maggie Cruz did you Founders Day Pledge with those repeating in unison. Margie McMillan outlined the council activities completed this year and Preceptor Alpha Tau was named Chapter of the Year.

Sherry Hohenberg presented Margie McMilian with her President Guard.

Gamma Omicron Master and Beta Omega Master all were honored as Women of the Year

Recognition was given to those members with 25, 50, 60+ years of dedication to Beta Sigma Phi.

There were 15 guests from Gamma Zeta Master, Blue Springs, to watch Linda Griffin receive her Golden Circle Ritual from Reta Leon.

Barbara Lefman installed the 2018-2019 City Council Officers.

Maggie Cruz recognized her committee and the afternoon ended repeating the Closing Ritual and Mizpah.
