A corrections officer at the Jackson County Detention Center has been charged with sexual conduct with a prisoner.
In a probable-cause statement, a detective described a sexual encounter on April 29 between an officer and a female convict. The night’s surveillance video showed the two passing notes through her cell, followed by him opening the door and touching her.
An internal investigation later uncovered the notes, which were sexual in nature.
The guard admitted to sexual contact with the inmate in a separate interview with the detective. He is currently housed in another detention center on a $100,000 bond.
