Niel Johnson of Independence, who for years has portrayed Harry Truman at public events, helps show a new mural of the 33rd president, now on public display at the Independence Chamber of Commerce, 210 W. Truman Road. Artist Ryan Christenson – known as ARCY – painted it at the Barney Allis Plaza in Kansas City. ARCY works quickly, getting this eight-foot-by-12-foot work done in about three hours. “We knew that it needed to have a home somewhere in Independence,” said Keith Winge of Missouri Main Street Connection.
