The Board of Directors of Comprehensive Mental Health Services, Inc. (CMHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Pratt, MEd, LPC, as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the agency.

Pratt has served 24 years in the behavioral health field with 20 of those years in community mental health in the state of Missouri. She has most recently held the position of vice president of operations during her 12-year tenure at CMHS. Pratt is well-known in the region and state through her participation in efforts to raise awareness and provide solutions to behavioral health issues. With Pratt’s leadership, extensive experience and enthusiasm, CMHS is expected to continue to improve client access, offer innovative services and increase partnerships within the community for growth and development in the mental health and substance use treatment fields.

“The compassion, and drive the team at Comprehensive Mental Health Services brings to the table every day for the community is inspiring. I am proud to be a part of the behavioral health community and especially honored and excited to be working with the team at CMHS. I look forward to continuing to be a part of this community,” Pratt said.

“The Board of Directors embarked on a quality improvement initiative nine months ago with a focus on better serving more consumers with behavioral health disorders. We seek to strengthen stakeholder involvement, medical direction, and to create a new culture that fosters partnerships between and among associates, consumers and the community. We believe Julie is the ideal candidate to lead us in this new and improved direction,” said Jay Dorst, board chair of CMHS.

CMHS will hold a reception to formally recognize and congratulate Pratt in her appointed role as president and CEO, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, at the William H. Kyles Building, 17844 E. 23rd St., Independence. Refreshments will be served.
