The 10-time Oscar winning musical classic West Side Story will be shown at 2 and 7 p.m. June 24 and 27, as Fathom Events expands their TCM Big Screen Classics series.

The movie was directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, with performances by Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, Rita Moreno and George Chakiris. This 60-year-old movie is a story of immigrants making their way in the United States, of teenagers trying to escape the crime and economic depression of the inner city and of the strength of love in the face of racial tension.

The following theaters will be participating: AMC Independence Commons 20, 19200 E. 39th Street S., Independence; The Palace at the Plaza, 526 Nichols Road, Kansas City; and Cinemark 20 Merriam, 5500 Antioch, Merriam.
