The Blue Springs North Branch of Mid-Continent Public Library is offering the following activities for the month of August. The library is located at 850 N.W. Hunter Drive. All activities are free, but registration is required, call 816-224-8772.

Kids Create: For ages 6 and older, 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Spark your imagination and express yourself through art and craft activities.

Email for Beginners: For adults, 2 p.m. Aug. 6. Email is the most common form of communication used today. Learn to understand your inbox, as well as how to write effective emails.

Superhero Time: For all ages, 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11. Join Wonder Woman and Batman in their epic quest to defend the universe! Come dressed in your favorite superhero costume, and join forces with this super duo for a power hour of heroic music, games, pictures, and fun.

Teens at the Library: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14. It’s your time to hang at the Library. Discover what we’ve planned just for you.

Attracting and Feeding Wild Birds: For adults, 7 p.m. Aug. 16. Bring song, color, and life to your yard. Join us to learn what types of feeders and food will attract wild birds, and discover how to benefit birds, the environment, and you.

KC Zoomobile – Australia: For families with ages 5 and older, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20. Go on an Australian-themed adventure with the Kansas City Zoo. Learn Aussie folklore and culture, and meet some animal friends from “down under.” Join the Zoo staff, and learn something new about Australia.

Teens Draw Caricatures with Marietta: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21. Learn to draw funny cartoon portraits of your friends and family. Caricature artist Marietta Williams will walk you through the basics of caricature. Then unleash your new drawing skills by drawing caricatures of your classmates.

Teen Anime: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28. Join fellow fanatics for fun!
