Santa-Cali-Gon Days Festival organizer Lois McDonald recently announced two more musical acts: hard rock band Black Stone Cherry and Beatles tribute band Liverpool.

“We are ecstatic to bring these world-class musicians to our community,” said McDonald.

Black Stone Cherry – which released its latest album, “Family Tree,” in April – will perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 on the Main Stage.

The four-man band has charted eight singles on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. Black Stone Cherry, which now records on the Mascot Label Group, has released six studio albums and three EPs since forming in Edmonton, Kentucky, in 2001.

Liverpool, who has performed across the country for 25 years, including a previous stint at Santa-Cali-Gon Days, will take the Community Stage, at the corner of Maple and Liberty Streets, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2.

Liverpool performs Beatles music from the band’s early British Invasion days all the way through to their final albums.

“This will be a fun concert. I hope people are ready to dance and sing along,” said Dave Tanner, a former Independence resident who portrays the role of Paul McCartney in Liverpool.

In addition to Black Stone Cherry and Liverpool, acts for the 46th annual Santa-Cali-Gon days include the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band, a Grammy-nominated blues rock band, performing at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, and country artist Jacob Bryant, who will perform at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, both on the Main Stage.
