An overnight break-in at an Independence gun store has officials offering a reward.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Independence Police are offering a reward up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction after suspects broke in through the front door and stole firearms from The Armory KC at the 10500 block of U.S. 40 in western Independence.

According to the ATF, IPD officers arrived on the scene moments after the break-in early Thursday, chased a suspect vehicle and took one juvenile into custody. Investigators from IPD and the ATF Kansas City Field Division believe several other suspects are involved

The ATF is offering a reward up to $5,000, which is being matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearms industry’s trade association.
