The Native Sons and Daughters of Greater Kansas City will present the first historical marker in Southeast Jackson County to Lake Lotawana in a special ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 15, at Lake Lotawana Park. Lake Lotawana officials and the mayor will join NSDKC officers in the presentation.

The NSDKC, founded in 1932 as a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to preserving the history and historical landmarks in and around Greater Kansas City. Today the group has 260 members, has placed more than 60 historic markers in locations in and around the area and participates in and is the sponsor of numerous local history and civic events.
