Kirksville’s American Trust Bank change its name to Connections Bank in December as part of a merger.

The two banks are both subsidiaries of Connections Bancshares Inc., which decided to merge the two brands. All locations will remain open under the name Connections Bank and continue to offer the same products and services.

“I am pleased about the merger of these two banking operations. The customer bases in each community share conservative values which will create exciting opportunities in each area,” Connections Bancshares Inc. President Robert Barmann said in a press release. “The employees at both locations will be the foundation of our commitment to excellent customer service and plans are to keep all employees.”

After the merger, Connections Bank will have total assets of $90 million and four locations in Kirksville, Ashland, Bunceton and Prairie Home.
