Oak Grove man killed, Grain Valley woman injured in crash that does not injure driver

Charges are pending following a motor vehicle accident on Saturday in which an Oak Grove man was killed and a Grain Valley woman was injured.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 19-year-old Brian S. Beebe of Oak Grove lost control of his 1991 Jeep driven on a curve on Doty School Road one-fifth of a mile north of Haynes Hill Road in Lafayette County. The Jeep hit an embankment and overturned. A passenger, Cody M. Turner, 25, of Oak Grove, was not wearing a seat belt and was partially thrown from the Jeep. He died. A second passenger, Christen M. Kantner, 23, of Grain Valley, sustained moderate injuries and was taken Centerpoint Medical Center. It was unknown if she was wearing a seat belt. Beebe, who was wearing a seat belt, was unhurt.

The accident happened at 7:50 a.m. Turner was pronounced dead about four hours later at Research Medical Center.

The Highway Patrol said the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
