A fire heavily damaged a home under rehabilitation in northwest Independence Wednesday evening. Assistant Independence Fire Chief Tom Collins said the fire was reported at 5:58 p.m. in the house at 9133 E. Wilson Road. Collins said no one was home at the time and no one was injured. The roof was �pretty much gone� and the structure suffered heavy damage, he said. The cause is under investigation.

The Independence Fire Department fought a blaze in a house under rehabilitation in far northwest Independence Wednesday evening. No one was injured. Assistant Fire Chief Tom Collins said the home was under rehabilitation, and no one was at the home when the fire was reported at 5:58 p.m.
