This is what Justin M. Trotter from Independence wrote to describe himself.
Trotter, 21, is accused of killing Steven A. Bertling and assaulting Bertling’s friend in fight on Aug. 15 at a church parking lot in Independence. Authorities say Bertling and the friends did nothing to provoke the men into attacking them.
Jackson County prosecutors charged Trotter with second-degree murder and assault.
Prosecutors also charged Joseph P. Delgado, 20 of Blue Springs, with second-degree murder and assault. Two other men, Michael W. Russi,18 of Independence, and Jacob W. Schaffer,18 of Blue Springs, were charged with assault.
Trotter’s Myspace page is filled with violence and illegal drug use.
He calls himself “Itz Real” on the page. His general interests are “money” and “weed.”
For television, he likes Ultimate Fighting Championship and football. For movies, he likes “Casino,” “Scarface” and “Pulp Fiction,” among others.
In one of his pictures, two handguns rest on a table. The caption reads “I sleep good at night.”
In another picture, Trotter has a blank stare on his face. A 4-inch bloody stitched-up gash runs down the left side of his head. The caption reads “jumped. i got em good.”
