Independence Police are looking for a man who walked into the Sam’s Club in Independence and walked out with a cart loaded up with six large flat panel TVs and at least one desktop computer.

The theft occurred Aug. 1 at about 4:25 p.m. at the business at 4100 S. Bolger Road in the Crossroads center at Missouri 291 and 39th Street.

Independence Police spokesman Tom Gentry said police were called after the man loaded the merchandise onto a flat cart and walked out of the store pushing the cart of merchandise without paying for it.  The suspect loaded the merchandise into a blue Jeep Cherokee SUV bearing Kansas license plates 647-ARK and drove away.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5-foot-8 to 6-foot tall, medium to stocky build, possibly in his 40s.

He was wearing sunglasses, blue jeans, green and white striped shirt, and wearing a dark colored apron like one would see at a lumber yard with pockets on front, tied in the back and behind the neck.
Gentry released a surveillance photo of the suspect.
