Independence police are seeking the identity of a man who is suspected of robbing a bank Thursday afternoon.
According to police, at about 4:40 p.m. Thursday, the suspect entered the Liberty Bank, 4315 S. Noland Road, approached an employee and demanded money while displaying a handgun. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a medium-to-dark skinned black male who is approximately 5 feet, 8 inches to 6 feet tall. He wore a dark fedora-style hat, wire-framed glasses, a dark-colored coat, a button-collar shirt and dark gray slacks. He also is believed to have worn a gray wig and a fake mustache.
