How would you describe your character, Carmen Diaz? She is this big, outgoing person who wants to make it big. All she cares about is how fast she can get to the top.
What have you enjoyed most about being in “Fame?” This is my first lead role. Last year, I was an orphan in “Annie,” but this is so much more stressful. There are a lot of lines and a lot of songs to remember as well as a lot of costume changes that goes along with this kind of role. But although it is stressful, it is also fun and very exciting.
Why do you like to be on stage? I love the adrenaline rush when ever I am on stage. You step into the spotlight and you get this rush to do so good. However, what happens is that you are so excited, sometimes you can go over-the-top in your acting or singing. I have worked with bands and people on stage before when singing, but theater is so much different. I like it just as well though.
Do you have a favorite scene or song in “Fame?” I like singing the title song of “Fame” because everyone is involved. It is exciting to get to be that overdramatic and over-the-top. It is so much fun to be singing and dancing together like that.
What do you think the audience will enjoy most about seeing “Fame?” I think how animated everyone is. This is also completely different from the script of the movie that was just released, so it will be interesting to see their perspective of this production. will be tremendous additions. Those are our main focus, because those will have the biggest influence in our education.
