You can find continuity-of-operations plans. It’s also a good idea to have employees take CERT – community emergency response team – training. Call 816-220-6518 for an upcoming class in Independence.
4 What does your typical day at the office look like? In the office by 7:30, doing city work during the work day. Evenings spent working with volunteers. The day ends about 9 or 10 o’clock. It’s a lot of hours each week, but I love what I do.
5 We know about tornadoes, ice storms and the flu. What scenario that doesn’t get talked about much really worries you? What really worries me is that people don’t know how to shelter in place. There is not a day that goes by in the United States that a shelter-in-place order is not given. The danger could for example come from a derailed train car full of a dangerous chemical that is spilled, forcing many people to stay indoors for an extended period of time.
