To what do you attribute your academic success? My hard work and dedication to succeed has made a big impact on my accomplishments. I’ve also had a great foundation of support from my family and the teachers and staff in the Independence School District.
Who was your biggest influence on your studies? My immediate family always encouraged me to work as hard as I could in school. I received a great deal of support in my house.
What was your favorite activity in high school? Why? Speech and debate. I learned so much, not just about public speaking, during my time within the program. Without it, I would not have had the confidence to become as involved in high school.
What college do you plan to attend and why? I am attending William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. The education program there is one of the most well-respected in the area. It is a place where I can get a quality education without being lost in the crowd of a huge campus.
What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now? I’m not entirely sure. I’d like to be teaching high school somewhere in the area, but anything beyond that is subject to be completely unexpected.
