Diana Hoover has lived in the Kansas City area over 40 years and had never been to a chiefs game. Her wish came true when a limousine picked up Diana, her son, and some friends for a day to remember. KC Wolf gave Diana a surprise visit with an autographed picture and took time to pose for a few photos. Special thanks to T.J. Mackentire and Q104 for donating the Chiefs tickets, Don Robertson of Hy-Vee for donating to Diana her Chiefs Gear, Crossroads hospice for donating the limousine, and KC Wolf for making Diana’s day extra special.
Michel Porter’s Bucket list wish came true when he traveled to Knob Noster to visit Whiteman Air Force Base where he received many memorable gifts including a special patch for his flight jacket. Michael had always wanted to join the Air Force but was unable to enlist. Special thanks to Jay and Jennifer from Whiteman for the gifts and Vitas Hospice for the Flight Jacket.
The Bucket List Program was started earlier this spring after the residents watched the same titled movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman and discussed some things they had always wanted to do but never had the opportunity. Items on the list include flying in an air plane, getting a tattoo, learning to play the drums, hot air balloon ride, going to see “The Price Is Right” in Hollywood, train ride, meet Trace Adkins and many more. Many wishes have been marked off the list and more are added each month. These wishes could not happen without the generosity of people in our community. Independence Manor would like to thank those who help make these wishes become a reality.
