More than 4,600 Scouts gathered to honor the recipients of the Kauffman Adult Eagle Scout Award at the Royal Gathering of Eagles on Aug. 30. This local award is given to adult Eagle Scouts in recognition of a lifetime of achievement and service to the community. This award was established this year as a part of the 100th Anniversary of Scouting. It is named in honor of Eagle Scout Ewing Kauffman, who credited Scouting with contributing to his entrepreneurial success.
