I have a friendly cobweb
That hangs upon my wall.
It seems so frail and helpless
I hope it does not fall.
It waves to me each morning,
And nods it’s small hello
To friends who come to see me.
(It never seems to grow.)
Family come to visit and
Say I should knock it down.
But then I’d probably miss
Not having it around.
My cobweb entertains me
By dancing in its place.
It never causes trouble
And takes up little space.
Eagerly it greets me
And listens to my woes,
Never giving bad advice,
Or siding with my foes.
What harm is it, hanging there,
Way high upon the wall?
If it were not there for me,
I’d have no friends at all.
I have a friendly cobweb
That hangs upon my wall.
It seems so frail and helpless
I hope it does not fall.
It waves to me each morning,
And nods it’s small hello
To friends who come to see me.
