George and Miriam McClary will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on August 30, 2010. They lived in Independence for 68 years of their married life. They currently live in Springdale, Ark.
George and Miriam met at William Chrisman High School, from which they both graduated.
Miriam is a former Miss Independence.
George served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is retired from the Federal Aviation Administration.
They are blessed with two children, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
