Area organizations are hosting a “green fair” from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at 3356 S.W. Arena Drive, New Longview in Lee’s Summit.
Habitat for Humanity, Gale Communications and New Longview are taking the lead in responsible and environmentally sensitive building materials and processes.
Tours will be given of the first two certified NAHB-built gold and bronze level and Energy Star “plus” rated green homes in the region.
More than 50 vendors will display products and procedures ranging from alternative energy sources, eco-friendly landscaping, cleaning products and building materials to organic foods, clothing and hybrid cars.
A $5 donation to Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity will be charged for adults 16 years and older. Children will get it free.
