While the worst threat of severe weather remains north of the metro area, Kansas City is looking at more warm weather Friday, with a high of 89, 3 degrees below the record.

Late Thursday night, an area from Plattsburg and Carrollton north to Des Moines and east to Peoria was under a tornado watch, but the metro area was not. The metro area has a slight chance of overnight thunderstorms.

Friday and Saturday will be warm and sunny, with a high Saturday of 90, forecasters say. The next chance of rain comes Sunday.
