Two armed men wearing black and white bandanas robbed two men in Blue Springs late Thursday night.
Police said one of the victims told officers that he had driven to a gas station at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday to help another man find a house. As they were approaching 18th Street in separate cars, one of the men noticed a black car stopped at a stop sign, turning into the lane and following them.
Proceeding on toward the 500 block of Northwest Foxhollow Lane, both drivers eventually stopped on the side of the road. One of the men noticed the black car pass by and then return.
At that point, two men – described as black men possibly 18 years of age and wearing black and white bandanas over their faces and black clothing – got out of the car. Both were carrying weapons – one a 9 mm pistol and another described as a silver and black pistol.
Troy Pharr, police spokesperson, said one of the men ordered both victims to the ground. At some point, one of the victims struck one of the men in the face, suffering what Pharr said was a broken arm.
“He complained of his arm going numb, which may mean he broke it,” Pharr said. “It was pretty risky of him to do that.”
Both suspects then reportedly robbed the victims, taking from them money, credit cards and other personal items. They then got in the car, driven by a white man also wearing a black and white bandanna, and left the area.
Pharr said it was unclear if the incident was connected to a home invasion that occurred Wednesday night in Blue Springs where two men entered an occupied home wearing black bandanas. A woman and her two children were kept in a room at gunpoint after the intruders were discovered. downstairs.
