The following items were taken from the Feb. 4 through 10, 1962, Examiner.

Three Independence men are serving aboard the heavy cruiser USS Los Angeles now undergoing repairs at the Naval Base in Sasebo, Japan. Aboard are John R. Hines, commissaryman third class, son of Mrs. R.R. Buckles; Harley J. Stoner, storekeeper third class, son of Mrs. Grace Stoner; and Franklin Swanson, machine repairman third class, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Swanson.
