A fire damaged a home in Independence Wednesday evening.
Firefighters were called to the house in the 2600 block of South Leslie Avenue after 7 p.m. and quickly contained the fire, which started in the basement.
Everyone got out of the house, and no one was injured, according to the Independence Fire Department.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
