To the editor:
I note with disgust the recent photographs of gay activists giving the “finger” to Reagan’s official portrait in our White House.
I am accustomed to seeing photos of Obama with his feet on the historic Resolute desk in the Oval Office. The Resolute desk was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880 and was built from the timbers of the British Arctic exploration ship Resolute in 1850. The peace treaty of the Spanish-American war was signed on the Resolute desk. Now, Obama parks his feet on this priceless piece of history.
Recently, Obama hosted a gay-rights activists reception at our White House. The activists posted photographs of themselves on Facebook giving the “middle finger” to Reagan’s official portrait hanging in the White House as they attended the reception.
I am looking forward to the departure of the present disagreeable occupants of our White House.
