Kevin Knauf, 16, the son of Gerald and Cheryl Knauf of Independence, received his Eagle Scout award Dec. 21, 2008, at Village Heights Community of Christ.
Kevin started Scouting as a Tiger Cub in Pack 382, and quickly moved through the ranks becoming Boy Scout, then Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, 1st Class, Star Life and then Eagle. He has served as the troop guide, leading those who are now becoming Boy Scouts.
He has had the honor of working at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation for the past two years. Kevin, a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, earned his Brave in 2006, and in 2007, during his first year on the camp staff, he earned the rank of a Mighty Warrior and a Firebuilder. This past summer, he earned the ranks of Tom-Tom Beater and Runner.
For his Eagle project, he built a retaining wall at East Independence Community of Christ. Kevin is a junior at Fort Osage High School.
