Firearms, currency, more seized at church

Jackson County authorities took a person into custody Monday night on alleged violation of the Federal Arms Act after serving a search warrant at the New Covenant Faith Church in unincorporated Jackson County.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team served the warrant at the church/school at 1612 N. Jennings Road, and simultaneously at a residence and attached apartment on the property.

A year-long investigation led to the warrants. Authorities seized numerous files, computers, firearms and a substantial amount of currency, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Three other people were detained and released at the scene.
