Prosecutors are waiting on toxicology reports and may file additional charges on the Blue Springs brothers accused of dumping a corpse.

Lance Gross and Marlin Gross appeared in court Wednesday for a hearing. A prosecutor told the court they are waiting for medical reports on Peggie Perez, 48, and that additional charges may be forthcoming.

Both brothers are charged with abandoning a corpse. Lance is being represented by Greg Grounds and Marlin is represented by Denny Waits.

Perez, who was seeing Lance, reportedly died on Jan. 20 following a prior evening of rough sex. Lance told police that he injected the woman with Valium while they were having sex. He also used a red dog collar to choke her.

When he awoke, Perez was dead. Three days later, Lance and his brother, Marlin, took the body to an area in the 31000 block of T Highway, approximately 2 miles west of Garden City, Mo., and dumped it into a creek.

Marlin had remained at large after Perez’s body was found. He turned himself in days after Lance was arrested.

Marlin was not in custody on Wednesday, and he offered no comment after the hearing. Lance remains in jail on $150,000 bond.

The next scheduled court date for both brothers is March 28.
