Beach season will be back at the end of the month.
Jackson County Parks and Recreation’s Blue Springs and Longview Lake beaches will open May 26. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 15 and younger and seniors. Family passes and special group rates are available.
Beginning May 26, the beaches will be open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on weekends and from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 8.
From June 11 through Aug. 10, weekday hours will be from 1 to 7 p.m.
The Blue Springs Lake beach is at 1500 N.E. Bowlin Road, Lee’s Summit. The Longview Lake beach is at 11101 Raytown Road, Kansas City. Both feature sand volleyball courts; restrooms and shower facilities; and an acre of protected, designated swimming areas.
