BETA SIGMA PHI

Alpha Omega Master chapter of Beta Sigma Phi has elected new officers for the year of 2008-2009. They are: Sherry Hohenberg, president; Pati Kidwell, vice president; Margie Sloan, recording secretary; April Milam, treasurer; Kathy Bozarth, corresponding secretary; and Terry Dye, Carole Van Nimwegen and Margie McMillan, city council representatives.

Members of the chapter have also recently enjoyed the following socials: Music by the Krazy Kats, this was a 1950’s-1960’s Sock Hop that was held at the Shrine Temple. April 12 , they enjoyed a “Girls Day Out,” with shopping at the Oak Park Mall, followed by a luncheon at Nordstrom’s, then more shopping.


EPSILON SIGMA ALPHA


Four members of the Delta Iota, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, attended the 2008 Missouri State Council Convention of ESA International April 18 through 20 at the Isle of Capri Hotel in Boonville, Mo.

Attending were Lola Reed, Geri Nicholas and Dayle Mixer of Blue Springs, and Karen Roberts of Independence. Joining them was a former chapter member, Dixie Meyer, now of Shell Knob, Mo.

Karen Ronspies of Smithville was installed as the MSC state president. Delta Iota received several honors, including third place in individual member hours at a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Radiothon, a Gold Link award for education programs and a President’s Award for participation. Dayle Mixer was named the second place winner in the State Outstanding Woman contest.

In the coming year, Dayle will serve as president of the MSC past state presidents and Zone 1 coordinator. Geri will serve on the Association of the Arts committee for the next convention, and Carol Schlotzhauer of Lee’s Summit will be the MARC representative, which includes a 10-state area.
