Oak Grove Police recently arrested two Oak Grove men who allegedly were involved in a crime spree that included burglary, arson, stealing, weapons offenses and cruelty to an animal, said Oak Grove Police Chief Bob Muenz.
Andrew Silvers, 22, and Steve Harmon, 20, both of Oak Grove, are being held in Lafayette County jail on cash only bonds of $35,000 each after they went on a spree that resulted in police recovering items such as computers, guns, tools and cars.
Oak Grove police arrested the men May 15 after obtaining search warrants for their homes and vehicles.
The men were held in Oak Grove before being transferred to the Lafayette County jail. The two are believed to have acted in Oak Grove and Odessa.
In addition, the two are accused of having damaged the front door of Metcalf Bank in Oak Grove, Muenz said in a press release.
The two are accused of shooting a dog during the burglary at the Oak Grove Public Works facility.
Muenz said an anonymous tip led police to investigate the two men, which eventually led to their arrest. Oak Grove police are pursuing municipal charges in some of the offenses.
The department continues to investigate and recover stolen property.
Muenz said anyone with additional information should call the Oak Grove Police Department at 816-690-3773, ext. 1100.
