Once again, cats will be available for adoption at no cost Wednesday at the Independence Animal Shelter.
Whisker Wednesday starts at 11 a.m. when the shelter, 875 S. Vista Ave., opens its doors for adoptions. Adoption fees for adult cats are waived for one day only.
In late 2011, the Independence City Council approved the discount promotion to take place when the shelter occupancy reached a certain level. Call 816-325-7207 for more information.
