WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was granted asylum by Ecuador on Thursday. He has been staying at the London Ecuadorian embassy to avoid being extradited to Sweden, where is accused of rape. Britain threatened Wednesday to storm the embassy and arrest Assange.

"I don’t like your policies." -- what Floyd Lee Corkins, 28, of Virginia reportedly said to a security guard at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the Family Research Council before shooting him in the arm Wednesday. Corkins was in court Thursday and was ordered to be held without bond. The FRC is a Christian lobbying organization that condemns abortion and gay marriage and considers homosexuality a sin. It was also reported Thursday that Corkins had a backpack with bullets and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches inside.
