A man was struck on Noland Road Tuesday afternoon after he tried to cross it.

Independence police said the man, who was not identified, was on 42nd Terrace at about 12:30 p.m. when he stepped onto Noland Road.

A vehicle turning onto Noland Road in an attempt to go south struck him, sending him onto the windshield and smashing it.

The man is in serious condition, according to police. They are investigating the incident.
