Elizabeth Grubbs to represent 5th District Republican women
Elizabeth Rene Grubbs, 16, has been selected to represent the 5th Congressional District Republican Women in March in Jefferson City at the Breckenridge Scholar Day, sponsored by the Missouri Federation of Republican Women. Each congressional district sends one scholar to participate in a full day of activities with legislators from around the state.
Elizabeth is one of 11 children and is home schooled by her mother. As a participant in AAU track and field, she is a regional champion and national qualifier. In 2005, Elizabeth was named the Most Valuable Female Runner for cross country and awarded the cross country team’s Dedication award. As an active debater, she received two debate awards in 2003 for winning three out of five debates at a Parliamentary debate tournament, and took 4th place over all at another tournament.
In her “spare” time, Elizabeth volunteers at her church food pantry. She is an alumnus of TeenPact Leadership School, a youth organization recognized by Gov. Sarah Palin and many of our Missouri State Legislators. TeenPact encourages youth education, leadership and participation in politics.
In 2008, Elizabeth was a “dialer,” making many phone calls for Sam Graves, Kenny Hulshof and McCain/Palin. She out-dialed many of the adults she worked with. Because of her commitment to politics, she was asked to intern in the Kansas City Victory office. Elizabeth had the great honor to greet Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin when they visited Kansas City on Sept. 9. She also led the Pledge of Allegiance at the rally for McCain/Palin in Lee’s Summit.
Santa Fe Trail Republican Women’s Club and the 5th Congressional District Republican Women are honored to be represented by Elizabeth!
