Woman injured after her vehicle hits deer

A 37-year-old Buckner woman suffered moderate injuries Monday morning when her vehicle smashed into a deer on route BB in rural Jackson County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Kathy A. Smith was driving south on the state highway around 4:15 a.m. when the 1991 Ford vehicle slammed into a deer. Smith was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center. The accident happened just north of route FF, which is north of Grain Valley. Grain Valley police helped troopers at the scene.
