Bob WitbolsFeugen, a Jackson County government activist, was in front of the County Ethics Committee on Friday asking for documentation that the County Legislature had repaid the government for funds that the Committee previously deemed to be misused. The misused funds were used to defend the legislators against a lawsuit filed by former legislator Robert Stringfield.
The commission dismissed WitbolsFeugen’s complaint when a private attorney hired by the county said the funds had been repaid. WitbolsFeugen says no documentation was provided.
WitbolsFeugen said, “Well, what’s the point of filing a complaint if all the respondent has to do is say, ‘I think they paid?’”
This appears to be the end to a court battle that began more than two years ago.
