I don’t dance, and that’s why I’m staying home Saturday.
But if you dance, you should celebrate National Dance Day with TaJazz School of Dance in Blue Springs.
You see, they’re hosting the Blue Springs Flash Dance from 6-6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Blue Springs High School.
The whole concept of National Dance Day was created by Nigel Lythgoe of the popular show “So You Think You Can Dance,” yet another show I don’t watch but will not discourage others from watching because, well, I’m not mean.
Sure, it’s the mission of the program to generate national awareness for dance and health and wellness, but it’s also meant to bring all kinds of people together, according to information provided by the organization.
But there’s more – and this is what always surprises and delights me about this area: this isn’t just about shaking your booty; it’s an effort to collect school supplies for the Community Services League school supply drive.
Now pay attention to this part: CSL needs a lot of items, including classic markers, red pens, zippered binders, black dry erase markers, pointed ended scissors, Magic Rub erasers (the white ones) and colored pencils.
Other school items are welcome, too, just so you know.

The following is from the Kids Closet Connection website:
