STORYTIMES & ACTIVITIES – Some storytimes require registration, limit attendance, and may have more stringent age requirements; contact the branch for complete information. If you are planning on bringing a group, please call ahead.
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME – for ages 1 to 6, 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Offers book related experiences including picture book reading, storytelling, music, puppets, finger plays, short videos and simple crafts. Attending children need to be mature enough to sit by themselves.
SUMMER STORYTIME – Offers varying activities for children during the summer and may not hold storytimes. Call for details.
ANIME MOVIE NIGHT – for teens, 6:30 p.m. July 6. Watch anime (Japanese animation). Goodies provided. Call to register.
BOOK NUTS – for kids reading at the 3rd to 8th grade level, 2 p.m. second and fourth Wednesdays. Pick up a copy of each month’s selection at the circulation desk. We will read, discuss and have fun activities for each meeting. July 8 – “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone” by J. K. Rowling. July 22 – “How to Eat Fried Worms” by Thomas Rockwell. Call to register.
HARRY POTTER MOVIE WEEK – for ages 10 and older, 3 p.m. each day

CROCHET BASICS CLASS – for teens, 7 p.m. July 14, 21 and 28. Learn the basic stitches and how to read the patterns to make anything (from hot pads to clothing) you desire. Instructions not limited to beginners only. Multiple week class. Call to register.
IRIS FOLDING – for adults, 7 p.m. July 16. Iris folding is a unique paper craft that creates amazing designs in a spiraling effect that resembles the iris of an eye or your camera. Complex in appearance, but very simple to recreate. In less than an hour, you will learn three patterns and complete your own work of art. Call to register.
LET’S GET CREATIVE: Dino O’Dell and the Veloci-Rappers, 2 p.m. July 18. This interactive musical journey features creative pizza toppings, unusual dance moves and space aliens. Dino’s shows engage children through singing, dancing, fill-in-the-blank lyric writing, finger plays and counting songs. There is even a number where the kids join the band. Fun for all ages and especially geared for ages 2-10. Call to register.
BOOK CLUB – Join us for fun and fellowship as we discuss plots, characters, and styles in various books – 7 p.m. second Thursday (adult); July 8 “The Glass Castle” by Per Jeannette and “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” by J.K.
