Steven Stone received his Eagle Scout Award on Scout Sunday, Feb. 3, at St. Catherine of Siena Church.
 
Steven joined Cub Scout Pack 631 in 1999. Before advancing to Boy Scouts, he  earned the Webelos Award  and the Arrow of Light, as well as the Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei religious emblems.  He was the first Cub Scout in his Pack to receive the St. John Bosco award.  He attended Cub Scout Day Camp in 2000 and Webelos Resident Camp in 2001 and 2002.
 
In February 2003, Steven joined Boy Scout Troop 631.  
 
His leadership posts have included patrol leader, chaplain's aide, senior patrol leader and scribe.
 
Steven has been on many campouts, including a week at Brownsea.  He has attended  Scout camp every summer since 2003.  This past summer, he was on staff at Piercing Arrow at Bartle Scout Reservation, where he is a warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say where he advanced to Tom Tom Beater.  His tribal name is Silent Sparking Fire.
 
He received his Ad Altare Dei religious emblem on Scout Sunday 2005.
 
Steven’s Eagle Scout project was to paint the SPRED (Special Religious Education for the Developmentally Disabled) Center at St. Catherine’s Parish.  He led fellow Scouts in completing the job, which consisted of painting the foyer, hallway, rest room, and eight storage doors.  It had not been painted since the 1970s,.
 
Steven is a junior at St. Mary’s High School, where he is a member of the Cantorei Choir and the Academic Team.  He has decided to major in computer sciences.
 
In addition to school and Scouts, Steven has been an altar server for nine years and a eucharistic minister for a year at his uncle's parish, St. Catherine of Siena Church.
