The following items were taken from the May 12 through 18, 1962, Examiner.
Mount Washington RLDS Church recently observed its 50th anniversary, and the present church building has been occupied since Aug. 29, 1919. The church really had its beginning on Sept. 11, 1910, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Gerber. First meetings were in a tent, then they rented a building. The organizational meeting of the church was held May 4, 1912. The Mount Washington Branch was transferred from the Kansas City Stake into the Independence Stake in May 1948. The Independence Stake is now known as Center Stake.

American Oil Co. announced that I.C. Staeuble, manager of the Sugar Creek refinery, will retire May 21. He will be succeeded by E.R. Grey, now manager of the company’s refinery at Neodesha, Kan. Staeuble first joined the Sugar Creek refinery in 1931 in the research laboratories.

Production of the new Wishbone Salad Dressing Plant of Thomas J. Lipton Inc., will start on a limited scale by the middle of July, Edmund J. Larkin, plant manager said. All of the company’s manufacturing operations for the salad dressing will be located here and the product will be distributed on a nation-wide scale. On Aug. 1, 1958, the Wishbone plant was completely integrated with the Lipton company.

Delegates from the Independence Study Club and the Nu-Era Study Club will be in attendance at the Missouri Federation of Women’s Clubs biennial convention in Excelsior Springs. Delegates from the Independence Study Club are Mrs. Frank J. Baldus and Mrs. Heister Reese. The Nu-Era delegates are Mrs. F.L. Kelly, Mrs. Harold Lorimer and Mrs. C.C. Jones.
