Snow, freezing drizzle and rain could fall during the next couple of days – and a larger winter storm potentially bringing four to seven inches of snow is expected starting Saturday.
The chance of precipitation – snow after 3 a.m. – is 30 percent tonight and overnight. It’ll be cloudy with a low of about 28.
Friday looks like it could be a mess: A chance of snow and freezing drizzle until around 10 a.m., then rain and snow until 1 p.m. No more than one-tenth of an inch of snow is expected to accumulate. High near 40. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent. It’s cloudy Friday night with a low around 31.
The next round starts Saturday, through the Weather Service says the track of the storm and the temperatures ahead of arrival of snowfall remain uncertain. At the moment, Kansas City sits in middle of east-west swath that could get four to seven inches of snow. The forecast is for rain after 1 p.m., a high of 39 and a brisk wind out of the east northeast at 9 to 15 mph, gusting to 21 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent, and there could be one-tenth to one-quarter of an inch. It turns to rain and snow in the evening and then all snow after 1 a.m. Sunday, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation and a low of 29. The snow continues to about 1 p.m.
There’s a chance of flurries Monday, but sunny skies return Monday or Tuesday.
