Independence police say they have identified the vehicle believed to have been used in the Jan. 18 robbery of the Quality Inn on Noland Road.

Police spokesman Tom Gentry said they are looking for a white Dodge Caravan with a black stripe along the side. It is a model from sometime in the 2000s. The suspect was described as white male, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 to 190 pounds.

The robber entered the motel at 4200 S. Noland Roat, at the Interstate 70 intersection overnight that Friday and robbed the desk clerk at gunpoint.

He then used a master key to open some guest rooms and demand money, according to a report from KMBC television.

Gentry said the suspect was wearing a dark blue or black zippered hoodie with dark pants and gloves. Witnesses said he wore a black ski mask and carried a handgun.

Anyone who knows who the suspect is or knows anything about the suspect vehicle is asked to call Independence police at 911, or at 816-836-3600, or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
